Protective mechanism of quercetin compounds against acrylamide-induced hepatotoxicity

نویسندگان

چکیده

Quercetin compounds have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anticancer pharmacological functions. Long-term exposure to acrylamide (AA) can cause liver injury endanger human health. However, whether quercetin attenuate AA-induced the specific mechanism are not clear. Here, we studied structure-activity relationship of in reducing hepatotoxicity vivo vitro. In studies found that quercetin-like protect against by oxidative stress levels, activating AKT/mTOR signaling pathway autophagy, improving mitochondrial apoptosis endoplasmic reticulum stress-mediated apoptosis. vitro protected HepG2 cells from AA attenuating activation lowering ROS levels exerting antioxidant effects thus stress, increasing membrane potential, apoptosis-related proteins, Furthermore, conformational differences between correlated with their protective capacity hepatotoxicity, showing best due its strongest activity. conclusion, through multiple pathways autophagy apoptosis, correlates

The protective effect of quercetin against hepatotoxicity induced by doxorubicin in male rats

Quercetin is one of the major flavonoids finding in many fruits and vegetables. Quercetin has many health promoting advantages such as improvement of allergic, arthritis disorder, and reduction of cancer and cardiovascular risk. The aim of this study was to examine hepatoprotective effects of quercetin on doxorubicin induced toxicity in animal model. Thirty male Wistar rats (200-230 g) were ran...

Potential protective effect of honey against paracetamol-induced hepatotoxicity.

BACKGROUND Paracetamol overdose causes severe hepatotoxicity that leads to liver failure in both humans and experimental animals. The present study investigates the protective effect of honey against paracetamol-induced hepatotoxicity in Wistar albino rats. We have used silymarin as a standard reference hepatoprotective drug. METHODS Hepatoprotective activity was assessed by measuring biochem...

Protective Action of Livol against Paracetamol Induced Hepatotoxicity

Protective action of Livol (a herbal formulation) against paracetamol induced experimental hepatotoxicity was observed in dog. Increased values of serum glutamate oxaloacetate transaminase, serum glutamate pyruvate transaminase, serum total cholesterol and its fractions, globulin, icterus index, prothrombin time and bromosulphalein retention by paracetamol (250 mg/kg, once orally) were decrease...

Protective role of licochalcone B against ethanol-induced hepatotoxicity through regulation of Erk signaling

Objective(s): Oxidative stress has been established as a key cause of alcohol-induced hepatotoxicity. Licochalcone B, an extract of licorice root, has shown antioxidative properties. This study was to investigate the effects and mechanisms of licochalcone B in ethanol-induced hepatic injury in an in vitro study. Materials and Methods: An in vitro model of Ethanol-induced cytotoxicity in BRL cel...

Ipomoea aquatica extract shows protective action against thioacetamide-induced hepatotoxicity.

In the Indian system of traditional medicine (Ayurveda) it is recommended to consume Ipomoea aquatica to mitigate disorders like jaundice. In this study, the protective effects of ethanol extract of I. aquatica against liver damage were evaluated in thioacetamide (TAA)-induced chronic hepatotoxicity in rats. There was no sign of toxicity in the acute toxicity study, in which Sprague-Dawley (SD)...
